[19:04] <buttercup> thinking of pre-ordering one you mean?
[19:11] <alextisserant> viridior: ping?
[19:13] * edt (~Ed@cl-117.bos-01.us.sixxs.net) has joined #touchbook
[19:16] <`Assassin> Nobody has one yet, buttercup?
[19:27] <viridior> alextisserant: pong
[19:29] <alextisserant> hi
[19:29] <alextisserant> have you ever tried to play with powervr drivers on neuvoo?
[19:29] <viridior> hey, yes a little
[19:30] <viridior> i have an alpha ebuild here: http://gitorious.org/neuvoo/overlay/blobs/master/sys-libs/sgx-libs/sgx-libs-3.01.00.07.ebuild
[19:31] <viridior> i haven't gone too far yet since the touchbook and pandora have some fairly modified kernels than tmlind's git tree
[19:31] <alextisserant> ok
[19:31] <viridior> planned on testing with my beagleboard first to make sure my ebuilds are working correctly before i tackle the problem of making custom touchbook kernels
[19:31] <alextisserant> so I guess you managed to get some demos working in command line, right?
[19:32] <viridior> to some extent, ive only done limited testing, it was mostly to get a working ebuild and proof-of-concept... i haven't been able to work on that and the DSP bridge as much as I would have liked
[19:32] <alextisserant> ok
[19:33] <viridior> the biggest problem I have is that im restricted to using touchbook kernels
[19:33] <alextisserant> mm
[19:34] <viridior> and of course its interlaced with OE and some beagle hacks
[19:34] <alextisserant> what do you mean by 'restricted' ?
[19:34] <viridior> the AI crew was supposed to push the mods upstream, not sure on that status
[19:34] <alextisserant> yes it's on the pipe indeed
[19:35] <viridior> restricted in the sense that I have a custom set up here for testing that the official touchbook kernels dont work with, so right now i have it as a standalone outside of all of my other testing setups
[19:36] <viridior> beagleboards are easy, i just haven't set them up yet
[19:39] <viridior> alextisserant: wanting to do some powervr testing?
[19:39] <alextisserant> yes, sort of
[19:39] <alextisserant> actually it's chromium os related
[19:39] <alextisserant> as they are now based on gentoo
[19:40] <viridior> have they looked at those drivers?
[19:40] <viridior> frankly the DSP and SGX build system is a trainwreck
[19:40] <alextisserant> well, they don't look really at beagleboard any more
[19:41] <viridior> way to integrated with OE imho
[19:41] <viridior> err... too
[19:43] <alextisserant> yup
[19:43] <alextisserant> but I'm not that bad: 3D is working in raw mode (that was the 'easy' part), still needs to tune the X setup
[19:44] <viridior> my company just relocated me and im still in training, so i haven't touched much with Neuvoo for the last two months. Those ebuilds were stuff I hacked together to have something to work on.
[19:44] <alextisserant> ok, good to know
[19:44] <alextisserant> what's your company?
[19:44] <viridior> alextisserant: are you part of the Chrome OS build team?
[19:44] <viridior> US Navy
[19:45] <alextisserant> oh ok
[19:45] <alextisserant> nope
[19:45] <alextisserant> but I'm close to
[19:45] <alextisserant> some connections
[19:46] <viridior> javaJake and I have been building custom stages and ebuilds for armv7a devices for the last two years. If you need any info let me know, I can probably at least get you in the right direction
[19:46] <alextisserant> ok
[19:46] <alextisserant> thanks
[19:46] <viridior> custom profiles and ebuilds here: http://gitorious.org/neuvoo/overlay
[19:47] <viridior> we also use metro from funtoo to build are images along with our binaries
[19:47] <viridior> http://neuvoo.org/neuvoo/
[19:48] <viridior> we do have one system that is different than stock Gentoo, which is a squashfs-based portage tree. Takes up ~35MB and a hell of a lot less i-nodes
[19:48] <viridior> that and a modular profile tree
[19:48] <viridior> otherwise we are effectively normal Gentoo
[19:50] <viridior> let me know if you have any ebuilds that come out of your work, would love to add it into our overlay
[19:51] <alextisserant> sure
[19:51] <viridior> also, we normally idle in #neuvoo and #neuvoo-dev, feel free to join us
[19:52] <alextisserant> ok
